First steps
Created in 1999 the company was founded by Bruno Uzzan and Valentin Lefevre. Uzzan's brings his financial consulting background to serve as CEO while Lefevre leverages his experience in simulation design to lead the innovation for the company.
Initial Business applications for AR
The first clients, coming mostly from the automotive and industry market utilized Augmented Reality as a way to reduce design and simulation costs when implementing new models. The initial clients Total Immersion worked with on these industrial applications included Renault, Eurocopter, PSA, BMW and General Motors. More recently, the applications have become more consumer facing, taking advantage of high definition technology and the need for brands to increase their customer interactivity. Today the company designs and produces innovative and interactive exhibits, serving diverse business segments, including Amusement parks , event and exhibition , retail , and publishing.
2005-2007: Total Immersion expands internationally.
A global network of resellers become established throughout Asia and Europe and a US subsidiary is established in Los Angeles. “Our first American subsidiary marks an important new phase in the global growth of the company, it will enable us to be in close proximity to a majority of U.S. players and key decision makers”. The “Future is Wild” - the world's first Augmented Reality attraction
At the end of 2006 Total Immersion engaged with French amusement Park Futuroscope (Poitiers) to develop their newest attraction “The Future is Wild”, featuring futuristic virtual animals that guests can interact with in real time. The attraction launched in April 2008 with great success.
New applications for the future
Today, with advancements with connection speed and hardware, Augmented Reality is available across a variety of platforms including an at home web-based solutions and mobile applications.
