Bosch Tools Celebrates their 25th Year of Innovation With Dagobert and Total Immersion

After a tender offer during the summer 2011, the DIY market leader Bosch tool, chose Dagobert as partner in the development of their Social Media strategy.  The online communication around the 125th anniversary of the brand is the first chapter to reveal the brand on the Social Networks.

On the occasion of their 125th year and to reaffirm their innovation as one of the strong elements of their DNA, Bosch Tools launches with Dagobert their Facebook strategy with an unprecedented experience in Augmented Reality, developed with its partner Total Immersion, leader on the market.

For the first of Bosch Tools’ community strategy, Dagobert has come up with a digital experience pushing Do it Yourself codes to the limits and where innovation revolutionizes the use. The campaign here proposes to discover eTool, a revolutionary back to the future tool,  which allows you to drill holes remotely without moving from your couch !

 

An unusual video

The first part of the 125 years operation is a video available on the brand’s YouTube pages and on Facebook, praising the values of eTool in diverting the advertising code of a famous console game with move commands. A clever flashback which makes this futuristic tool even more conceivable and truly illustrates the future DIY vision of Bosch Tools as user friendly and playful.

 

 

A Facebook game unprecedented in France

The brand then invites Internet users to meet on Facebook and to in turn experiment this innovation. A real foretaste of the future, the game offers Bosch fans to drill, screw or move a frame with the sole palm of their hand placed in front of their Webcam. Only the quickest and most precise ones will win up to 4,000 Euros in vouchers or a selection of Bosch tools. Thanks to the technology developed by Total Immersion, this 125 years game is the first Facebook application developed in France in Augmented Reality. It can detect hands movement without any additional plug-in, providing an immediate thrill of the experience.

Bosch Tools is taking the opportunity of their 125 years anniversary to put forward and to illustrate one of their key values which is Innovation. This original and playful operation, conceived by Dagobert and presenting the first Facebook application in Augmented Reality in France using manual control, pays tribute to Robert Bosch, a visionary founder.
